Mission Statement
Huntsville Ballet School’s mission is to provide the highest caliber of dance training to all its students, from the recreational dancer to those who plan to pursue a professional career.
About the School
Now in its 45th year, Huntsville Ballet School (formally Community Ballet) provides the finest classical ballet training in Alabama. The school's curriculum is designed to develop strong, flexible and versitle dancers that can adapt to a variety of dance forms. The skills aquired by HBS students can take them far beyond the studio an stage and help them succeed in every area of life.
Huntsville Ballet School creates and provides many opportunities for students to work with and learn from world renowned choreographers, master teachers and guest artists.
Huntsville Ballet Company's production of the Nutcracker is open to all students from Ballet I through adult by audition. This year's performance of the Nutcracker will be performed at the Von Braun Center and will be accompanied by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. Students chosen to perform in the Nutcracker must take a minumum of two ballet technique classes per week (no exceptions).
The annual school performance will be held on June 1-2 2010.
